2027 Various Sidewalk Reconstruction

The Town of Cobourg is proceeding with the design of sidewalk improvements at several locations throughout Town. The proposed work includes new concrete sidewalks, associated curb and entrance modifications, grading, restoration, and accessibility improvements.

A Public Information Centre was held on September 21, 2026, to provide residents with an opportunity to review the proposed improvements and provide feedback.

Preliminary design drawings from the Public Information Centre are available for review.

The proposed sidewalk improvements are located on:

Heath Street – William Street to Burnham Street
University Avenue East – D’Arcy Street to Campbell Street
University Avenue East – Campbell Street to Cottesmore Avenue
Munroe Street – Division Street to approximately 210 m east of Division Street

Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2027, subject to Town budget approval.

Anne Street Reconstruction

The Town of Cobourg and Lakefront Utility Services Inc. are proceeding with the design for the reconstruction of Anne Street between College Street and University Avenue East. The project includes replacement of the existing watermain, sanitary sewer and storm sewer, along with full reconstruction of the roadway, curbs and concrete sidewalks. Water and sanitary service connections will also be replaced from the new mains to the property line. There will be no cost to property owners for this work.

A Public Information Centre was held on September 21, 2026, to provide residents and property owners with an opportunity to review the preliminary design, learn more about the proposed work, discuss potential property impacts and provide feedback.

Preliminary design drawings from the Public Information Centre are available for review.

Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2027, subject to budget approval.
